Paradise Cove (aka Secret Cove)
Trees cast early morning shadows into Paradise Cove.
Because the water is shallow here, the water tends to be warmer.
As the name has it, this is Paradise. A small South Seas-like cove of outstanding beauty. A stairway (center right in photo above) serves as the trail's final passage to this magnificant beach which is used as clothing-optional by both straights and gays.
As the beach is in a deeper cove, the beach is partially protected from lake winds. As with the other Lake Tahoe beaches, the sand is definitely coarser and not as comfortable to walk barefoot on as ocean beaches; the sand not having the centuries of ocean wave refining.
A naturist on Butt Rock enjoys the warming rays and solitude of the early morning at Paradise Cove.
This beach has some great sunning rocks.
